There are several benefits of slipcovering your old furniture. The cost is far less than re-upholstery, you can change the look of your existing furniture instantly, choose your own fabric from the supplier of your choice, and you can remove slipcovers for easy cleaning.

Selecting the proper fabric for your slipcovers is very important. Your slipcovers will last for many enjoyable years if constructed with the right type of fabric. When selecting a fabric keep in mind that a slipcover at certain points is up to six layers of fabric thick . If too thick of a fabric is selected some seams will not lay flat on the furniture.

If you plan to machine wash your covers I strongly recommend washing and drying your fabric before I come to cut it. That way is already preshrunk and your covers will always fit perfectly.
I suggest you cut a 20”X20”test piece of your fabric first and see how it stands up to washing before washing all of your yardage.

Slipcovers can be easily removed for periodic cleaning.
Either take your covers to a professional dry cleaner or if you have pre washed your fabric follow the directions below.
